« Les pruches ou la forêt enchantée »
"Les pruches" is landscape tranformation of a Montreal public space. The location of this installation is inside; in one of the most welle known of Montreal's discotechques and bars. The location provides a pretext for spontaneous and temporary creation as the public open spaces ofn the city that do not permit much spontaneous actions or the production of temporary «public» landscape. At the design level «Les pruches is a reponse to architectural modernity or, more precisely a reponse to the post-nuclear age. The projet is an attempt to respond to the problems of urban life. It is a discourse on format expression and is, as any landscape, a vehicle for images. «Les pruches» is an ephemeral interior landscape designed for a period of six months. The landscape is composed of forty-five tree trucks and fifty-five ceramic turrets, placing mineral and vegetable artifacts in tension to create a synchronic effect in space. The spatial arrangement is thus referential, bringing two energie, one static, mineral, and the other dynamic, vegetative, into confrontation.
